Meeting training needs of local industries and businesses
Our staff can help coordinate and deliver employee-training programs based on the unique needs of Alaska businesses.
Services range from providing facilities and logistical support to planning and coordination of entire programs.
Certifications to enhance employment opportunities
Specially designed courses meeting regulatory and industry standards are offered for open enrollment in safety, oil spill response and information technology.
Delivery options include independent study, specialized industry courses provided on-site, on-line courses, and traditional classroom settings.
School-to-work programs
In partnership with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company and area public schools, PWSCC coordinates the nationally accredited Wheels of Learning program, providing employment opportunities for Alaskans.
Industrial Technology Degree & Certificate Programs
Certificates are college-level programs designed to give career skills in a specific area. Programs vary in length and in course requirements and are offered to enhance the employment opportunities of persons who seek specialized training. Certificate programs are official catalog offerings of the college and are recorded on the college transcript.
PARTNERSHIPS
ALYESKA PIPELINE SERVICES Co.
Since the early 1990s, Prince William Sound Community College has worked in partnership with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company to develop training programs to meet regulatory requirements and the special training needs of oil spill response and terminal operations in Port Valdez. In addition to a well-developed employee safety program, the Training Department facilitates development of new courses customized to meet Alyeska's business objectives.
In conjunction with Alyeska's Ship Escort and Response Vessel System (SERVS), the PWSCC facilitates annual specialized training for the crews of more than 350 fishing vessels designated to respond to an oil spill in Prince William Sound. Training is also provided in coastal communities throughout the region for wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.

GATLIN EDUCATION SERVICES
Prince William Sound Community College, in partnership with Gatlin Education Services (GES), offers online open enrollment programs designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional level positions for many in-demand occupations.
Our programs are designed by a team of professionals from each respective field, who work to provide the most effective web-based learning experience available today. Instructors/mentors are actively involved in your online learning experience. They respond to any questions or concerns, as well as encouraging and motivating you to succeed.
Each program includes a set of lessons and evaluations; grades are a combination of the instructor/mentor's evaluation of students' work and computer graded tests. We know you'll appreciate the quality as well as the convenience of anytime, anywhere learning!
