Cast Biographies
An early interest in acting and writing has kept Andy Day (Giles Corey) writing fiction and plays for a number of years. Two of his plays have been presented in the Play Lab at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference. This is his first time on stage in a long time and he states that he is now certain that memory does not increase with age.
Joe Fitzgerald (Thomas Putnam) is an employee of First National Bank Alaska, and his acting experience includes playing Larry Felton in Rand Higbee’s Past Perfect, being in the improv group Seasonally Affected Disorderlies, playing Benjamin in a staged reading of Edward Albee’s Finding the Sun, and reading plays at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference for the past three years.
Terry Folsom (Rebecca Nurse) grew up in Southern California, where she learned to love theatre. She earned her BA in Drama with a minor in English, and began teaching both, moving steadily north over the years, and landing in Valdez in time for the first Last Frontier Theatre Conference. She has acted in many plays in college and community theatre, and has directed over 60 high school productions. (She’s really enjoying watching Dawson do the hard part!)
Scott Frank (Judge Hathorne) has been an active member of the Valdez theatre community for the past 10 years. He played Cheechako Chuck in Pam Lunt's Boom Town the Show for 6 years, The Rabbit in Rand Higbee's Past Perfect, Simon in Thorton Wilder's Our Town, Osiris in Dawson Moore's Bile in the Afterlife, Felix in John Arnold's Monsieur Felix Fox Fly, and Harold the Older in Dawson Moore's The Fears of Harold Shivvers.
Ed Larson (Deputy Governor Danforth) and his wife, Cristina, have lived and worked in Valdez for the past four years. He collided heavily with the Arts in 2004 when he was cast in his first role as the Stage Manager in PWSCC’s production of Our Town. He hosts a weekly hour-long radio program celebrating the American Popular song on KCHU. His play You Have the Right! was presented last year at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference, where he also performed as a reader, most notably reading opposite his son, Stephen, in Sean David Bennett’s Fall Out.
Marissa Leahy (Betty Paris) is appearing in her first play tonight. She attends Valdez High School.
Victoria Leavelle (Tituba) is appearing in her first production at PWSCC, and she will be appearing in a few weeks in their production of The First Date and Another First Date. She was involved in drama in both high school and middle school, and plays the trumpet (badly). She has lived all over the country because her parents are in the military.
Tawny Linn (Mary Warren) has been performing for audiences large and small since she could walk. She was most recently seen in Monsieur Felix Fox Fly, Dawson Moore’s The Fears of Harold Shivvers and Thorton Wilder’s Our Town, and has directed productions of Go Look! and Dawson Moore’s Bile in the Afterlife. She hopes to one day finish and submit her first play to the Last Frontier Theater Conference and also get a degree in Theater.
Meg McKinney (Elizabeth Proctor) is the President of the Valdez Arts Council. Plays she worked on with the Bethel Actors Guild include Rumours, Bottoms Up, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in which she played Titania. She is an undercover documentary filmmaker, and teaches Yoga at PWSCC. She has ambition to become a drummer-murdering sociopath.
Emili Moneyhun (Mercy Lewis) got interested in theatre last semester, appearing as the goddess Isis in the college production of Bile in the Afterlife. She has also appeared in The Attractive Women on the Train and The Fears of Harold Shivvers. She originally hails from Chicago.
Dawson Moore (John Proctor/Director) runs the Drama Department at PWSCC and coordinates the Last Frontier Theatre Conference. At the school, he has directed productions of Past Perfect, Our Town, Bile in the Afterlife, and Living with the Savage. He has acted in over a hundred productions in the last two decades; some of his favorite roles include Otto Woodnick in The Food Chain, Duke Orsino in Twelfth Night, and Captain Neato-Man in The Adventures of Captain Neato-Man.
Danielle Morgan (Susanna Wallcot) is currently a senior in High School with aspirations to dominate the world with neon colors. When not chasing rabbits in her spare time, Danielle is happily taking part in college play productions, having been a part of Our Town last winter.
Randy Parker (Ezekiel Cheever) last appeared on stage in the PWSCC Drama Department production of Dawson Moore’s Bile in the Afterlife, and has offered technical assistance on that production and others at the college. He was a reader at this year’s Last Frontier Theatre Conference. He recently joined the Valdez Arts Council as its Historian.
Jeanne Passin (Sarah Good/Assistant Stage Manager) has lived in Valdez for the past 22 years. Currently retired, Jeanne and her husband have been spending winter traveling in their airplane through the warmer climes of Central America. Jeanne says it was not much of a stretch for her to play a crazy old woman, she’s had many years of practice! She has appeared in several movies (which shall remain nameless to protect the innocent!).
Josh Schmidtlein (John Willard) is 15. But if you asked him, he’d reply "If I told you I was eighteen, would you believe me?" He’s currently enrolled in Valdez High School as a sophomore, looking into Psychology, and doing everything he can to participate in all theatrical activities available. He plans to major in something that involves computers, while keeping Drama as a hobby. Josh has participated in around eight productions.
Meghan Tanner (Abigail Williams) appeared in her first play, See How They Run, at the Civic Center last spring. She is a senior at Valdez High School, where she is active in many athletic programs, including basketball, cross country, and pogo rallies. Next year she hopes to go to college, if anyone will have her.
Christopher Villarreal (Reverend Hale) has appeared in last spring’s production of Living With A Savage as well as last fall's Our Town. He has also had roles in various one-act plays produced at PWSCC. Dawson Moore has directed him in five productions total at the school.
Adam Warwas (Reverend Parris) was last on stage in the college productions of Attractive Women on the Train, The Fears of Harold Shivvers, Bile in the Afterlife, and Our Town, his first play. He presented his play Bleeding Heart, Hopeless Mind at last year’s Last Frontier Theatre Conference. He is a native of Calcutta.
Kathleen Zinn (Ann Putnam) last appeared in Wallace Ruby Morales's filmed reading of A Real Character playing the lead role of Marsha. She is a former model and actress who has appeared in school and professional stage productions, including an appearance on the WWF before it changed its name to the WWE. She has acted in the Last Frontier Theatre Conference's Play Lab for the past four years.
