Recycling at PWSCC

The paper recycling that is collected in Valdez gets trucked to Anchorage, here’s a website that explains what they take – remember that we ONLY send PAPER from PWSCC currently! Our paper recycling goes out to the baler facility and a truck backhauls it to Anchorage. NO CARDBOARD at this time. So please look at the papers section (Newspapers, Mixed Paper, Office Paper, and Magazines) of this website when trying to understand what we can send.

You are also welcome to take recyclables yourself whenever you make trips to Anchorage, and Glennallen has a recycling center right on the highway, on the right side of the Glenn Hwy after turning left from here; http://www.alparalaska.com/recyclables.html.

Valdez will be getting a glass crusher – hopefully it’ll be up and running soon! Woohooo! There’s rumors about the city collecting paper and cardboard just like they collect the trash, right at our curb, that’ll rock when that happens.

3R PWSCC/Valdez is hoping to have an Electronics (and more) Recycling Event in the spring – so save up for that, both $ and electronics – see the links for greenstarinc and Total Reclaim at the bottom of the website – if you’re interested in helping out and participating let me know, we’ll be discussing it at the next 3R meeting on January 20th at 2pm, in the Instruction Board Room.
