Recycling at PWSCC

The paper recycling that is collected in Valdez gets trucked to Anchorage, here’s a website that explains what they take – remember that we ONLY send PAPER from PWSCC currently! Our paper recycling goes out to the baler facility and a truck backhauls it to Anchorage. NO CARDBOARD at this time. So please look at the papers section (Newspapers, Mixed Paper, Office Paper, and Magazines) of this website when trying to understand what we can send.

You are also welcome to take recyclables yourself whenever you make trips to Anchorage, and Glennallen has a recycling center right on the highway, on the right side of the Glenn Hwy after turning left from here; http://www.alparalaska.com/recyclables.html.

Valdez has a glass crusher – hopefully it’ll be up and running soon! Woohooo! They are collecting glass now, take your glass items out to the Baler whenever they’re open and you’ll find a bin to dump it all in just inside the doors. There are rumors about the city collecting paper and cardboard just like they collect the trash, right at our curb, that’ll rock when that happens.
