student organizationsStudent AssociationThe representative organization of the PWSCC student body is the Student Association, which was formed to promote the educational and general welfare of the students, to broaden their perspective through the establishment of a self-governing structure, to act as a unifying factor and student voice, and to help formulate policies and procedures concerning overall college life. Phi Theta KappaPhi Theta Kappa is the largest and the most prestigious honor society serving two-year colleges around the world. Membership is based primarily upon academic achievement. Invitation to membership is extended through the PWSCC local chapter. To be eligible you must be admitted into an associate degree program, have completed at least 12 hours of coursework leading to an associate degree program, have a grade point average of 3.0, and must enjoy full rights of citizenship in your country. Membership in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society will open new doors for your academic journey. The organization offers a myriad of opportunities for scholarships, intellectual enrichment and personal development through programs based on Phi Theta Kappa's four hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship. Multicultural Student AssociationThe mission statement of the Multicultural Student Associations is, "To promote cultural values and ethnic diversity through sharing cultural traditions." Prince William Sound Community College student body is made up of a diverse group, representing not only Alaskan Native people but people from all over the United States and the world. To address and celebrate this diversity the MSCA was formed in the spring of 2003. Membership is open to all students. The club sponsors the International Food Festival in the fall and the spring and attends conventions throughout the state. For students to participate in these activities they are expected to attend meetings and take part in club fund raising activities. PWSCC Archery ClubPrince William Sound Community College is proud to be the first and only college in Alaska approved by USA Archery to have a Collegiate Archery Program (CAP). USA Archery is the organization which governs the US Olympic Archery Team, and promotes target archery and other arrow sports, including Bowhunting.
