It has been a busy year for PWSCC’s Outdoor Leadership Lead Faculty, Dr. D.B. Palmer, from the creation of Alaska’s first adventure film school–where notable instructors include Emmy-award winning director Michael Brown–to being the featured speaker at this year’s Balto Film Festival in Seward, Alaska. The Outdoor Leadership program is making waves both at home and abroad. As the eco tourism industry continues to expand and diversify, a degree in Outdoor Leadership prepares students to take the lead in this dynamic and rewarding field. In the filmmaking business specifically, film companies have increased their spending in Alaska by a factor of 40 in just three years.
It is no surprise, then, that the media would take note. Attached is an article from the Seward Phoenix LOG that illustrates PWSCC’s Outdoor Leadership Program’s integrity and relevancy in the growing film market within Alaska. You can read about our program on pages 1 and 12 of the attached PDF:The Seward Pheonix LOG Vol. 48, No. 51 | August 7, 2014 (3.3 MiB)
