ABE/GED/ESL
These programs are a free service to the community offered to individuals 16 or older.
Adult Basic Education (ABE)
Learn basic skills in reading, writing, grammar, and math. Students develop individual study plans and receive personalized instruction. Opportunity is provided for students to learn to read, listen effectively and interact with others. Computers, videos, and cassettes are available to students.
English as a Second Language (ESL)
Designed for those with non-English backgrounds. ESL focuses on oral and written usage of the English language and offers a forum for cultural exchange between English and non-English speakers. Classes in citizenship are available.
General Education Development (GED)
Diploma preparation and testing for those who have not earned a high school diploma. The diploma is acknowledged by business and industry, civil service commissions, licensing bureaus and many other institutions--including PWSCC.
