My name is Anthony Oliva, I'm from Anchorage and this is going to be my first year attending the Valdez Theatre Conference. I am looking for one (or more) people who are interested in sticking around Valdez for 3-5 days after the conference to go backpacking, kayaking, camping. I've heard it is gorgeous country down there and would like to do some Kayak touring and camping for a few days. I don't have any experience in that part of the state, but I have resources for information and a love for the outdoors -if you do too let me know and we can get something planned.
I have a Nissan Pathfinder with a rack on top, and a bike rack on the back. I figure we could carpool down there together as well; I can haul gear in my car and we can share the gas costs. I have a kayak I am bringing and can get another from REI (I work there, its free) for someone who wants to join me. I was also going to bring one of my bikes for transportation during the conference -that leaves room for one more on my rack. I also have various extra camping equipment and bikes, so if its gear holding you back, let me know, I may be able to accommodate. I need to be back by Thursday evening so that would be a Thursday morning return trip. Please let me know ASAP. Thank you.
