Chancellor Tom Case and Provost  “Bear” Baker, along with the Chancellor’s Executive Officer of Communications, Pam Cravez, will be visiting PWSCC on Wednesday 4/17/2013.  There will be a series of forums to provide college staff and community members time to have face to face chats with them.  Below is a schedule of the meetings.  Please plan to attend the forums that apply to you.

Comedian Geoff Keith will be performing at the Valdez Civic Center this Friday night at 8:00pm as part of an abbreviated tour around Alaska. Don’t miss this national act! Geoff has appeared on Comedy Central, Chelsea Lately, The Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and MTV’s Disaster Date. Based in California, Geoff has been performing since 2003 and continues to tour the country, performing regularly at comedy clubs and colleges. This performance is recommended for adult audiences. Admission is FREE with PWSCC student ID; $5 general admission.  Call 834-1600 for more information.

PWSCC is here to help with any New Year’s resolutions you may have made for 2013. Have you promised yourself to learn something new? Get your GED through our Adult Basic Education Department. Get creative and register for Beginning Acrylic Painting, with instructor, Faith Revell; learn a skill like Archery, with coach, Steve Shiell; or earn your First Aid/ CPR certificate. So many great classes are available and affordable here at your community college.

How about taking some fitness classes at the Wellness Center? Some of the classes offered are: Bodies in Tune, Pilates, and Beginning Cycling. Take advantage of our Ski for Free Program, offered in partnership with SWAN. Classical and skate cross country skis, ski boots in many sizes, as well as gaiters, head lamps, and snow shoes are available for free loan to support your outdoor adventures.
