Open Floor

Chris Boswell brought to the table the need of a safety kit for broken windows in the dorm. He suggested the kit include gloves, duct tape and tarp in be kept in the RA's room. The discussion that followed was based on the fact that the dorms are equipped with all new windows and safety glass has been ordered and will be placed in the doors.

Access to the building was brought to the table: The issue regarding unrestricted use of the facility during non business hours was the question. The committee discussed this item based on safety, building security and the safety of the personnel in the building. The committee did note that with proper scheduling through Lisa Sparrell the building is available during non business hours for any committee, group or special need.

Action

The committee unanimously agreed that the current hours of operation and accessibility to the building and all facilities is more than adequate. The current policy that is in place insures the safety and security of the facility and the occupants of the college.

The issue of injury on the job was brought to the table. What is the proper procedure for reporting was the question. You must report any injury while on the job to your direct supervisor. All injuries must be reported to Steve Shiell within 24 hours of the incident. The question was then raised regarding student injury and policy while on campus. Policy states that students are responsible for there own injury and transportation. The college (or dorm RA) can assist with calling for medical assistance or the police.

No other issues were brought to the table:

The next meeting was scheduled for November 30 th at 1:30 in the College Board Room.
