PWSCC Business Office, our Copper Basin and Cordova campuses are US Department of State Passport Acceptance Facilities. You can visit the Valdez business office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm to apply for a US passport. Contact the Copper Basin and Cordova sites directly for available hours. Passport photos can also be taken at the college. You must be able to provide certified evidence of US citizenship (i.e. birth certificate, or naturalization certificate) and evidence of identity (i.e. driver's license or military ID).

Fees (to US Dept of State)

Passport fee – under 16 years of age - $60.00
Passport fee – 16 and over - $75.00
Expedited fee – additional - $60.00

Expedited Postage – Express Mail $32.50

Passport Validity

Passports for applicants over 16 years of age are valid for 10 years. Passports executed before the applicant's 16 th birthday are valid for 5 years.

Special Requirements for Children

To submit an application for a child under 16 both parents or the child's legal guardian(s) must appear and present the following:

•  Evidence of the child's US citizenship,
•  Evidence of the child's relationship to parents/guardian(s), AND
•  Parental identification

If only one parent appears you must also submit one of the following :

•  Second parent's notarized written statement consenting to passport issuance for the child,
•  Primary evidence of sole authority to apply, OR
•  A written statement (made under penalty of perjury) explaining the second parent's unavailability.

Passport Applications

You can complete the passport application one of two ways:

•  Come in to the business office and complete the DSP-11 Passport Application Form
•  Visit www.travel.state.gov to complete a DSP-11 Passport Application Form online and bring it with you to the business office.

To renew a passport complete Form DS-82 Application for Passport Renewal by Mail. You can access this form online at www.travel.state.gov or visit the business office for the application.

Passport Processing Time

Once your application has been received by the Passport Agency for processing it will take up to 6 weeks for completion, expedited passports will be processed in 2 weeks.
