Branding Guidelines for PublicationsIn order to create and maintain a widely recognized identity as a progressive yet stable educational institution, all major publications released by Prince William Sound Community College (Maxine & Jesse Whitney Museum, Wellness Center, Last Frontier Theatre Conference, Consortium Library, Copper Basin Extension, Cordova Extension) should have a common aesthetic cohesiveness. With this in mind, certain type fonts, colors, and logo placements should be incorporated within every official PWSCC item the public sees. This is not to say that every publication should look the same, but that they should all be recognizable as PWSCC items. Casual or unofficial publications such as posters, apparel items, and the like, are not subject to these guidelines. However, it is recommended that some aspect of the guidelines is adhered to for these items. The official type font used when the initials PWSCC or the words Prince William Sound Community College are published, used as an identifying title, should be Goudy Old Style. This should not be Bolded, as it changes the letter forms. The initials PWSCC should not have a period after each letter (P.W.S.C.C.) The school seal should be placed on every publication, on the front page or main cover, preferably either the top left or bottom left corner, depending on the design. The school seal should not be altered in any way, except as currently used within the Last Frontier Theatre Conference as part of its seal. The seal should only be used as black or navy on another color or white, metallic gold, or transparent upon another color or a combination of the school’s official blue and/or yellow. There is a full color rendition of the logo. This is also acceptable usage, but should be limited to use when the logo will be printed out in a large format. The official colors for Prince William Sound Community College publications are: PWSCC Gold: These colors should be used for all official publications whenever design allows. The Whitney Museum logo can be used in full color of brown, grey and red. It can also be used as black, brown, gray, or red on another color, or white, metallic gold, or transparent upon another color. When an affiliated logo is used in a major publication, the PWSCC seal should also be present, such as with the Whitney Museum’s moose logo, for example. Any future logos developed for segments or departments of PWSCC should be used, on official publications, in conjunction with the PWSCC seal. |
