Step Four: Placement Testing
Appropriate course placement is an essential component of academic success. Students are encouraged to meet with an academic advisor prior to registration to discuss educational goals, placement scores, and course prerequisites for appropriate course selection.
PWSCC uses Accuplacer placement testing for math, reading, & sentence skills. Please make an appointment in student services for all placement testing.
If registering for the first time in English or math courses, students must show evidence of appropriate placement. English, Preparatory English and math courses require appropriate placement scores for course registration. Test scores reflect national norms and are subject to change. For English and Math course placement purposes, Accuplacer scores are valid for two years from the date taken. Refer to the catalog and the class schedule for specific course prerequisites and placement score requirements. To schedule your placement exam, please call 907-834-1645.
