PWSCC is now accepting submissions for the Valdez Adventure Film Night (VAFN), showcasing outdoor adventure films created by local talent.

The VAFN is a part of the PWSCC Outdoor Leadership Program’s first Winterfest, a planned annual event to kick-off the winter season in Valdez. It takes place on December 7. The daytime programming includes safety demos, vendor and organization booths, and races. The evening will start with selected short films, and then feature showings of Dean Cummings’ The Steep Life and High Ground, a film by Emmy-winning adventure film director, Michael Brown.

Submission guidelines
• Maximum Length: 10 Minutes.
• Filmmaker must attend event on the evening of 12/7.
• Submissions must be received by 5:00 p.m. on 11/29.
• DVD format.
• Children may be present at the event, so films can’t be too adult.

Submissions should be dropped off to Sheila Mann at the Valdez campus. They can be mailed to:

Sheila Mann
PO Box 97
Valdez, AK 99686

Regardless of how they are submitted, entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. on November 29.
